Meditation and Pranayama

with Nathan Paulus

In this workshop, we will learn and work on some key poses to prepare the body for better breathing technique. We will work on isolating and breathing from the different centers of the body, then combining the awareness into full breathing. Simple pranayama and bandha will be introduced with an emphasis on refining the quality of the breath. The breath work will be used as a way to prepare and energize the body for deep meditation.
Sunday, February 19, 6-7:15pm
(You can use your class package/membership for payment, sign in on regular class schedule)

Nathan Paulus uses yoga as a method to improve the relationship with body awareness and intelligence; specifically, developing a stronger relationship to the intention of movement generated from within, while simultaneously listening to and refining the bodies response to the initial impulse. He works to wake up deep body sensing, and to strengthen will for meditation. He has extensive training and study in western anatomy and kinesiology, along with extensive study and practice in Chinese Medicine, and Tai Chi. Elements from all these realms influence the classes.
