Yoga For Stress

We all know the physical benefits of yoga, but it’s that warm glow you feel after a great practice that keeps most of us coming back. In this workshop, we will take a close look at areas where we all hold tension: the neck, shoulders, and lower back; exploring poses, breathing exercises, and guided meditations designed to help you unwind. We’ll also discuss how to use these exercises outside of the studio for a quick recharge in our daily lives.

Sarah Damiano, RYT-500, TIYT, is a teacher, traveler, bodyworker, artist, and a forever-student. She has studied yoga for more than a decade, most recently through Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) with Joseph and Lilian LePage, and Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy (TIYT) with Genevieve Yellin. She has previously studied Iyengar in Chicago with Gabriel Halpern, ViniYoga in Sonoma with Mirka Kraftsow, Thai bodywork at the Old Thai Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and yoga therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India.

Sarah specializes in therapeutic yoga for stress management, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and chronic pain. Her classes integrate music, meditation, breath-work, body scans, mudra, and mindfulness techniques into the physical asana practice in order to facilitate a deeper sense of connection between the body, the breath, the mind, and the spirit.
