WITH GOPI OM
Have you ever wondered about the stories behind the pose names? There is a rich history of stories and lessons dwelling in the practice once we understand more about the namesakes of the postures we love to practice. We’ll dive into some of the more common postures, as well as some more obscure ones and find out: What's the deal with Warrior? Who was the Tortoise? The Monkey? The Fish? The names of yoga asanas that we practice often come from ancient texts and knowledge of these stories can change our understandings of the intention behind the pose itself and deeply enrich our own practice. This workshop will be asana practice broken up by sections of seated lecture. Please come prepared for a moderate physical practice and bring something to take notes, if you like.
This workshop is in conjunction with Nature Yoga's 200 hour teacher training. Space is limited, register early!

Given the name Gopi Om by her guru (and Nicole by her parents), Gopi/Nicole believes that a yogic lifestyle enables a person to approach the more mundane aspects of life with a lighter heart and a more accepting attitude. She has been studying with Sri Dharma Mittra exclusively for the past several years, completing his first ever 800 hour training and traveling to assist him at workshops in the Midwest. She strives to live every moment as an offering to the divine and to pass on the teachings of yoga as they have been generously shared with her.
