Yin Yoga

Join Tania Hughes for this delectable, grounding lunchtime Yin session.

Enter into this gentle, one hour beginner’s yin sequence at noon on Thursday, December 20. We will melt into a sequence for the spine, then the hips, and finish with gently twisting the spine before final relaxation. 

In Yin yoga, with a meditative approach we aim to deepen and direct our postures to target the connective tissues that less frequently exercised. This practice serves as a compliment to the Yang styles of yoga, which are more dynamic and muscle-focused. 

As poses are held for a longer period of time, there is opportunity to deepen the flexibility and elasticity of connective tissues, and bring more mobility and lubrication to stiff joints. Deeper awareness of breath technique is achieved as we move through long duration of poses.

Please wear comfortable layers for this cooling practice.

Tania Hughes is a yoga instructor, and a practicing massage and craniosacral therapist who brings 15 years of bodywork experience to her classroom.
