The hips are one of the great sources of our mobility and when we lose flexibility in the hips, we lose our ability to move as we are intended to. In this workshop, we will learn to mindfully create space in the body by gently moving into postures that will allow for optimal mobility and decompression in the hips. As storage centers for our emotional stories and creative desires, opening the hips can also create an opportunity for much needed release. Using breath work, focus, and intention, we will explore ways to ease into hanumanasana, or the splits, which can be an elusive posture even for the most experienced practitioner. Some yoga experience is preferred but not required.
