with Rachel Sherron
This workshop will explore several different variations of sun salutations by breaking down key alignment actions and transitions to help you feel stronger and more confident in vinyasa (flowing) yoga classes and in your home practice. Expect detailed anatomical alignment information as well as movement drills to build strength and mobility in moving from chaturanga to upward facing dog, stepping forward from downward facing dog, and matching breath to movement. We will work hard towards a pinnacle pose: savasana. This workshop is for all levels of students as well as teachers who want to build their teaching vocabulary.

Rachel Sherron discovered yoga in 2005 as part of an Eastern Religions class she was taking as an undergraduate. Upon leaving her first yoga class, she immediately knew of the power of the practice. For Rachel, yoga has changed the way she views herself, her body, relationships, and the world around her. Yoga ignited a deep sense of compassion and acceptance in Rachel, and since that time she has dedicated her work to sharing this transformational practice with others. In both her professional job as a mind/body therapist and as a teacher of yoga, Rachel strives to create a space for healing and transformation. She believes that the true purpose of yoga is to provide insight into the patterns of the mind, and by recognizing and detaching from these patterns one can become more aligned with the Self, where divine knowledge exists.
