After many years dabbling in meditation and Tibetan Buddhism, Tom Truty began serious study of this path in 2001, and found a home in the Geluk school of Tibetan Buddhism. He engaged with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT)’s Discovering Buddhism education program in 2005, began volunteering in FPMT centers in 2008, and joined their staff in 2011.

Now the Director or Education Services for the organization, Tom focuses on the Geluk tradition of meditation, using the Lamrim as a basis and employing mindfulness, analytic, and visualization techniques.
