This one day, 3 hour class is designed for pregnant people and their labor support partner. Through both discussion and experiential learning, partners will learn a variety of tools to help them through the birth process.

Topics covered are:

-the stages of labor

-What the laboring person is feeling both physically and emotionally through each stage

-When to go to the hospital

-Hands on ways to help laboring person through contractions, how to provide support with massage,

-Comfort measures through breathing, positions for labor and birth, visualization, the use of heat and cold, and positions for the pushing stage.

$75 per couple in advance/ $85 for day of registration

Natalie Evans is a certified Childbirth Educator through ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators) as well as a birth and postpartum doula. She has enjoyed the rewarding work of teaching and being a doula for over 18 years. Along with her birth work she also enjoys the exciting and difficult job of being the mother of two teenagers, one born at Evanston Northwestern hospital and one a home water birth.

Natalie is also a wild edible foods instructor and movement coach. She takes people on wild edible plant walks and teaches indoor and outdoor private and group movement classes, including Family Movement Classes and Hello Pelvic Floor! classes and runs retreats centered on connecting to nature through movement and food. She is MovNat Level 1 certified, Functional Movement Systems (FMS) certified, a Healthy Foot Practitioner and is certified as an Edible Wild Plants instructor
through The Resiliency Institute.

Natalie has loved biology and botany since she was a kid and feels extremely lucky that her work involves helping people understand and explore how the human body works and spending time showing people the wonderful world of plants. She is currently in the middle of her Human Movement
Specialist certification through the Brookbush Institute and is in a year long certification program at The Resiliency Institute for Bioregional Herbalism.

** Studio Cancellation Policy- Special events and workshops require a minimum number of students to attend in order to take place. If you are interested in a workshop, we encourage you to register early. We will notify you and issue a full refund 24-48 hours in advance if a workshop is canceled due to low registration. Thank you!
