Restorative Yoga & Thai Massage

Yoga & Massage June 9.png

Join Emily and Val for a practice integrating movement, meditation and massage. The workshop will begin with a few active poses and then we will set up for meditation, restorative yoga, and deep relaxation techniques. Val will provide hands on adjustments through lengthening Thai stretches, calming acupressure with aromatherapy and balancing Reiki healing.

Restorative Yoga includes gentle to effortless movement utilizing yoga props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps for support. Slow moving to long held postures up to 10 minutes each. Restorative yoga is transformative in that it gives the student time to rest and receive the benefits of each pose at a physical, mental and cellular level.

Thai massage includes compression and gentle stretching along energetic Sen lines. The stretches will aid in deepening the restorative yoga practice and postures, allowing further relaxation and release of muscle tension throughout the body.

Acupressure stimulates points along the Chinese Meridian system to influence the flow of energy or Qi. Essential oils will be applied to specific points to facilitate the opening of pathways to calm the mind and further relaxation.

Reiki is a Japanese art form in which healing energy, Qi, is transmitted from the practitioner to the receiver. It is beneficial in restoring balance throughout the body on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. Reiki energy will be provided to individuals during the meditation practice as well as shared throughout the collective space.

Leave feeling lighter, aligned, and restored after a relaxing Sunday of self care.
