Tomoko Horikawa
Tomoko Horikawa was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. As a young girl she studied various forms of movement. She had performed at several musical dance theater in Japan. She has danced with Fly-by-Night Aerial dance company in NY and with Aloft Aerial dance company in Chicago.
She completed the 200 hour Anusara teacher training from 2002-2003 in NY with Anusara certified teachers Jim Bernaert, Ruthie Bernaert, Jackie Prete and Ellen Saltonstall. She is now an Anusara inspired teacher. Tomoko is also certified in Makkoho (Japanese stretching exercise) and practitioner in Shiatsu (Japanese acupressure massage). She has also taught therapeutic healing with dance and yoga for the deaf in Japan for 12 years.
