Yoga Nidra

For most of us, “relaxation” includes some sort of sensory distraction but true relaxation is a conscious relaxation, which enables us to remain aware, and in turn provides us deep transformation and healing. The practice of yoga nidra is what we need in this modern age, where cell phones and media are constantly distracting us. It is a practice that includes complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation – a state that is reached best by turning inward, away from outer experiences. Usually when we sleep, we lose track of self and cannot utilize the capacity of mind.

The technique of Yoga Nidra can enable one to be conscious in this state and nurture the seed of great will power, higher self and vitality. Yoga nidra is practiced lying on the back while listening consciously to guided relaxation practices.
This class will invite you to connect to the wisdom of the lineage of Master Sivananda through Swami Yatidharmananda.

"Why should I burn incense sticks? Why do you ring the bell so hard in the temple?” “How can you worship a living person as a Guru? Growing up in Cuttack, Odisha, Swami Yatidharmananda had a thousand questions like this about our culture, religion and spirituality. After some time as a programmer in the private sector, Swamiji moved to Rishikesh, where he joined the Divine Life Society. He became a personal attendant to its president, and also served as the order's digital archivist. Since 2012, Swami Yatidharmananda has served the global yoga and interfaith communities as a preceptor of the Chidananda Sevashram, which aims to promote worldwide spiritual and physical well-being through yoga, ayurveda, and the study of holy scriptures.
